Coracle boat prototype: dimensional lumber

This thing represents a fair amount of effort. I found the 2x4s in the woods and used 1×4 pressure treated from the backyard for the other stuff. I meant to try to float it, but with all the nails in it I cannot cut off the excess. The excess should actually be cut off before assembling. For a thing made out of complete junk it feels rather sturdy, so I think new wood and the use of screws should make this a creek- or river-worthy vessel.

I heard a rumor that the buoyant force is equal to the weight of the displaced fluid (and opposite in direction of course) … just a rumor though.
